Family owned and operated with over 30 years of experience servicing Asian and American vehicles. Southgate Automotive is a local Reno auto repair shop owned and operated by David and Cameron Taylor, a father-son team with a deep-seated love for fixing cars. David got into the auto repair business by way for his father-in-law, who owned Southgate Chevron since 1963, but even before then, he had watched his father building engines in the home garage and started working on his own cars in high school. After joining Southgate Chevron, David became manager and then lead technician, so Cameron, in turn, spent a lot of time in the shop growing up, learning from his dad and grandfather.
In 1995, the Taylor family separated from Chevron, and Southgate Automotive became the independent auto repair shop it is today.
The mechanics and technicians at Southgate Automotive LLC provide thorough automotive repair. We will handle the repair and / or replacement of your radiator, engine, battery, suspension, clutch, brakes, air bags, lights, door locks, anti-lock braking systems, seat belts, steering, exhaust, hoses, drive axles, and timing belts. We offer extensive inspections and vehicle diagnostics of your air conditioning system, cooling and heating systems, charging and starting systems, brake systems, electrical systems, emission systems,and smaller car components such as window motors and regulators.
Southgate Automotive LLC also specializes in automotive maintenance, radiator service, alternators and electrical work. However, we also offer new tires, electrical components, towing service, differential service, turbos, U-joints, shocks & struts, starters, suspension and important items such as steering parts and repair, water pumps, wiper blades, spark plugs and more!
